New VEU Incentive: $35,000 for C&I Solar Systems (30-200kW) – Boost Your Business with Clean Energy!
1 October 2025: The Victorian Energy Upgrades program collaborated with Solar Victoria to establish VEECs (Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates) for solar systems. Aiming at the commercial and industrial sectors, this initiative aims to support electrification and reduce energy consumption.
The non-residential sector will receive an incentive of up to $35,000 to install a 30-200 kW solar panel at their establishment. The VEECs can be combined with Small-Scale Technology Certificates and Large-Scale Technology Certificates, depending on the project capacity.
Eligibility Requirements for the VEECs in Victoria
The Victorian Energy Upgrades programs support local businesses in upgrading their commercial space through discounts and rebates. Through this support, the program helps reduce energy bills and greenhouse gas emissions.
The eligibility criteria for this VEU incentive are:
- The system must be initiated after 29 September 2025
- Installation should be at a non-residential site
- System size should be between 30 and 200 kW
- Maximum of one system
- Compliance with the connection agreement or negotiated connection contract of a DNSP
- Panels and inverters should be a part of the approved list of the Clean Energy Council
- Solar panels should have a minimum of a 10-year warranty, and inverters should have a 5-year warranty
- The solar panel brand should be a participant of the SPVI (Solar Panel Validation Initiative) for systems under 100 kW
- One should have access to the system dashboard, monitoring portal, or regular performance results
